EDITORIAL STANDARDS / BIGEXCLUSIVES
How BigExclusives researches and evaluates reviews.
BigExclusives publishes research-based reviews, buying guides and practical evaluations. This page explains how we verify claims, distinguish research from hands-on testing, assess pricing and limitations, handle affiliate relationships, and update published work.
1. We label the evidence we actually have
We do not present a research-based article as a hands-on test. When we have not independently used a paid account, run a benchmark, purchased a product or reproduced a vendor claim, the article should say so clearly. Illustrative scenarios are identified as examples rather than customer cases.
2. Our source hierarchy
- Official product documentation, pricing pages, terms, changelogs and support documentation.
- Primary company announcements and regulatory or corporate disclosures where relevant.
- Independent technical research, reputable reporting and published studies when they materially improve the analysis.
- User reviews or community discussions only as reported sentiment, not as independently verified fact.
3. What we evaluate
Our reviews focus on practical decision factors: what the product is designed to do, who it may suit, pricing and renewal or usage costs, plan limits, workflow fit, portability, integrations, privacy or security considerations, important trade-offs, and questions readers should verify before paying.
4. Pricing and plan checks
Pricing is checked against official sources available at the time of review. Introductory prices, annual-billing discounts, usage credits, renewal costs, regional differences and optional add-ons can materially change total cost, so readers should confirm the live checkout or pricing page before purchasing.
5. Vendor claims versus our conclusions
Performance, security, revenue, accuracy, medical, productivity or other claims made by a vendor are not treated as independently proven merely because they appear on an official website. Where verification is not available, we identify the claim as vendor-provided and keep our own conclusion separate.
6. Hands-on testing
If a future BigExclusives article includes hands-on testing, it should describe what was tested, the plan or version used, the date, the environment, the task, the number of runs where relevant, and important limitations. A single test should not be presented as proof of universal performance.
7. Affiliate relationships
Some articles contain affiliate links. BigExclusives may receive compensation from qualifying actions at no additional cost to the reader. Affiliate eligibility does not determine whether a product is praised or criticized, and commercial relationships are disclosed. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
8. Health and wellness content
Health and supplement coverage is informational and is not medical advice. We avoid presenting supplements as proven treatments or cures unless a claim is supported by appropriate evidence. Readers should review labels, interactions and contraindications and consult a qualified healthcare professional when appropriate.
9. Updates and corrections
Products, prices and policies change. We update articles when material information changes and state review dates where useful. If you believe an article contains an error, use our Contact page or follow our Corrections Policy.
10. Authorship and accountability
Published work identifies its author or editorial account. Our current publication standards, sourcing expectations and commercial-transparency principles are described in the Editorial Policy, and authorship information is available on our Authors page.
